The Pump House Restaurant in Fairbanks, AK offers quality family-style dining in an historic setting on the banks of the Chena River. The Pump House recreates a 1890's Gold Rush motif and atmosphere. Our food service is "Alaskan Style", which means the combination of the freshest products possible with our unique culinary heritage. The Pump House Restaurant and Saloon In season you will find the herbs we use are all grown in our chefs garden right outside the restaurant. Fresh Alaskan Salmon is delivered to our dock by floatplane. Our prime beef is aged 21 days to insure maximum flavor. The Senators Saloon features "The World's Most Northern Oyster Bar" where the succulent oysters are flown in fresh from Seattle on Alaska Airlines.

The Pump House offers a unique opportunity to work and play in Alaska! We have a staff of about 100 and and cater to a large volume of tourist and local clientele. The Pump house restaurant is a Dirona Recipient, making it one of the top 500 restaurants in North America.

General Qualifications
  • AGE Minimum working age is 18 years old. Wait staff and bartenders must be at least 21 years of age.
  • QUALIFICATIONS Applicants will be considered based on their work availability dates, qualifications, and experience in the position applied for. Most positions require prior experience.We are looking for individuals who will provide a positive guest experience.   • EXPERIENCE Minimum 2 years experience in fine dining establishment
  • LIFESTYLES We are a drug free workplace. All employees must maintain clean hair and hairstyles and personal hygiene. Hair must not stick out over the shirt collar. Mustaches & beards must be kept trimmed and reasonable in length.. Extremes such as bi-level hair styles or multi-colored, is not acceptable nor is multi-body piercing's and tattoos that are visible. If upon arrival you do not meet these requirements you will be refused employment.
  • NON US CITIZENS Must have American working papers if from outside the US.

Wages and Benefits
  • The Pump House Restaurant is primarily a seasonal employer. Our wages and benefits are competitive with other restaurants in the Fairbanks, AK area. We are not only offering an opportunity to experience the adventure and uniqueness of working in Alaska, but also the opportunity to earn good money. The Pump House is a high volume food and beverage operation, catering to large tour groups and locals alike. Tips are excellent for the average server and the level of sophistication in the food area will be a challenge to any kitchen personnel.
  • HOURLY WAGES range from $7.75/hour for servers to $15.00 per hr for head line cooks, depending on the position.
  • FLEXIBLE WORK HOURS. Summers in the "Land of the Midnight Sun" -- Alaska --- offer a wide variety of mountain activities. Activities include trekking around at Denali Park with hundreds of square miles of incredible hiking trails. There are guided hikes, as well as, plenty of altitude to tackle on your own. Camping, fishing, rafting, mountain biking and general mountaineering are staple parts of many employees' quests for adventure that are within easy driving distance from the Pump house
  • HOUSING Apartments average $800 - $1000 per month. Lots of employees opt for a log cabin in the summer which runs about $500.00 per month. There is limited public transportation. A car is advisable. Some, ride bicycles all summer.
  • GETTING HERE We do not provide transportation. You can drive the Alcan, which takes about 4 days if you take your time and sleep at night from Seattle, or you can Fly to Fairbanks directly.
  • FAIRBANKS Is a friendly community of about 60,000. The University of Alaska is located here. There are plenty of shops and things to do. We have a great airport and road system. A beautiful river runs thru town.
