Wages and Benefits

  • The Pump House Restaurant is primarily a seasonal employer. Our wages and benefits are competitive with other restaurants in the Fairbanks, AK area. We are not only offering an opportunity to experience the adventure and uniqueness of working in Alaska, but also the opportunity to earn good money. The Pump House is a high volume food and beverage operation, catering to large tour groups and locals alike. Tips are excellent for the average server and the level of sophistication in the food area will be a challenge to any kitchen personnel.

  • HOURLY WAGES range from $7.25/hour for servers to $15.00 per hr for head line cooks, depending on the position. 

  • FLEXIBLE WORK HOURS.  Summers in the "Land of the Midnight Sun" -- Alaska --- offer a wide variety of mountain activities. Activities include trekking around at Denali Park with hundreds of square miles of incredible hiking trails. There are guided hikes, as well as, plenty of altitude to tackle on your own. Camping, fishing, rafting, mountain biking and general mountaineering are staple parts of many employees' quests for adventure that are within easy driving distance from the Pumphouse

  • HOUSING Apartments average $6-700.00 per month.  Lots of employees opt for a log cabin in the summer which runs about $450.00 per month.  There is limited public transportation.  A car is advisable.  Some, ride bicycles all summer.

  • GETTING HERE We do not provide transportation.  You can drive the Alcan, which takes about 4 days if you take your time and sleep at night from Seattle, or you can Fly to Fairbanks directly.

  • FAIRBANKS Is a friendly community of about 60,000.  The University of Alaska is located here.  There are plenty of shops and things to do.  We have a great airport and road system.  A beautiful river runs thru town.
